Ephesus and Pamukkale

At Ephesus you walk the marble street down to the Library of Celsus and the great theatre. The Terrace Houses are ticketed separately and worth it: mosaics and wall painting still in the rooms they were made for.

The next morning, Pamukkale at first light, while the terraces are still empty, and Hierapolis just above with its necropolis and ancient pool. Flights into İzmir or Denizli, and back.
